Join me for a one hour investigation into probably the most underrated and misunderstood bands ever to come out of our shores… Lindisfarne. Renowned as one of the finest live acts around during the 70s, 80s and early 90s – they would sell out 2 weeks of Xmas shows at their native Newcastle City Hall every year and attract fans of all ages and walks of life on their extensive tours.. In different shapes and forms have kept going to the present day, however in this programme I concentrate on the first 20 years – from 1970-1990, when by and large the line-up stayed relatively stable. Album by album I trace their history , throw in a few anecdotes and most importantly play a selection of what I consider to be their finest tracks.
